Bangladesh, officially known as the People's Republic of Bangladesh is one of the country's in South Asia. Bangladesh is a developing nation with a huge population. There has been several international and domestic efforts to improve t he economic and demographic status of the country.
As a result of all this, in July 2005, World Banks' Country Brief stated that Bangladesh has made progress in human development which includes increasing literacy, gender parity in school and reduction in population growth. All this has resulted in the increase of jobs in Bangladesh. One more reason for the increase of jobs in Bangladesh is that recently there has been increase in Foreign Direct Investment.
A large number of local as well as international companies such as Shell, BP, Royal Bengal Airlines,Unocal Corporation, and Tata are opening their branches in Bangladesh.

Presently there are a large number of sectors where jobs are available such as finance, accounting, banking, information technology, sales, marketing etc. But the major export earnings of Bangladesh comes from the garment industry which started attracting foreign investors because of its cheap labor and low cost conversion. Educational qualifications and skills for working in a particular sector are required for getting jobs in Bangladesh.
In the recent times government is trying to improve the pay and perks of the service sector so that a large number of people are interested to take up jobs in Bangladesh. The labor laws and regulations have received a face lift in the recent times.
