Universities in Hungary
Hungary is a country situated in Central Europe, northwest of Romania. Its climate is temperate, with cold and humid winters, and warm summers. It is a Parliamentary Democracy and its monetary unit is the Hungarian Forint. Hungary has made the transition from a centrally planned to a market economy with a good per capita income. The level of literacy in Hungary is 99%.
Higher education is the university in Hungary lasts for 4 to 6 years depending on the course undertaken. University PhD courses usually take 3 years to complete. To enroll in the university program, students must have an intermediate level language exam in the foreign language of their choice. English and German are the most popular. Universities in Hungary also offer college level courses. The new network of higher education institutions consists of 18 state universities, 2 non-state universities, 13 state colleges, 5 church universities and 22 colleges and 12 colleges run by foundations.
