 Universities in Lithuania offer various courses. Universities in Lithuania offers a number of degree courses such as Bachelor's studies which is about 4-5 year. Masters study is for 1.5 to 2 years. The doctorate degree is no less than 4 subjects with final exams. University courses that are much in demand are semiconductor physics, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, environmental protection, natural sciences, technology etc. Habilitated Doctor is the highest research degree in Lithuania. The programs in the Lithuania universities are flexible. Students have a greater choice of interdisciplinary, alternative courses. There’s decentralization of institutions. The study programs offered in the educational institutes are autonomous. Universities in Lithuania have moved to 3-tier system except law and medicine.
