Higher education in the public universities in Malaysia is funded by the Government and governed as self-managed institutions. Degree programs that are offered by the universities of Malaysia are graduate and postgraduate degrees such as the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).
The courses are heavily subsidized by the government. To apply in the public universities, applicants must have completed the Malaysia matriculation program. Clearing the examination doesn’t guarantee a place in the public university. Candidates have to go through opaque selection process. Public and private universities in Malaysia offer Master of Science degrees through coursework or research and Doctor of Philosophy degrees through research.
