Most candidates panic before an interview. They are always worried about successfully clearing the interview. Questions like, how should I dress? How should I behave? What are the questions interviewer would be asking? What should I say? What shouldn't I do? Planning
  • The candidates should prepare themselves well for the interview. They should gather all the information they can about the organization and the job profile they have been called for. They should brush up their knowledge of their majors.
  • The candidates should confirm the date and venue of the interview well in advance. Also, they should estimate the time it will take them to reach the venue.

    Interview Day
     
  • The candidates should dress appropriately; no casuals, only formals to be worn.
  • They should not look nervous.
  • They should answer all the questions.
  • They should have a control on their body language.
  • They should respect the interviewers.
  • They should listen to the interviewer carefully.
  • They should provide feedback and ask for feedback.
  • They should thank the interviewer after the interview is over.

    After Interview

    Positive Response from the Interviewer

    If the candidate is given a positive response from the interviewer and either selected or short-listed for further selection test, the candidate should take it as an achievement. He/she should now prepare himself or herself well for the job role.
     
  • Candidates should follow up with the organization till they get the final response.
  • They should inquire about the result on the day scheduled for the result or as conveyed to them and if they have been selected the candidates should follow up the organization on regular basis for further formalities.
  • They should inquire about the organization, and should clarify any doubts regarding his/her position and job profile.

    Negative Response from the Interviewer

    If the candidate is provided a negative response, it is likely to upset him/her. He/she should not blame the organization for this negative response, but should analyze the incident.

    Post Interview Analysis
     
  • The candidate should try to find reasons. He/she should summarize the whole day and should analyze what went wrong.
  • He/she should try to analyze why things went wrong.
  • He/she should note down the wrong responses and try to improve upon them.
  • He/she must learn from the incident and should prepare well himself or herself for the next interview.
