E/B.Tech in civil/mechanical/electrical engineering. For the post of geologists, the candidate must have a bachelor's degree or post graduate degree or professional degree in geology. For the post of geophysicists, the required qualification would be a bachelor's degree or a masters degree in geophysics or geology. For drilling engineers, bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering is required.
Other than the degree, the person must be professionally skilled in their respective fields. They must be able to design, implement and appraise cost effective, operable, safe and environmentally and legally compliant installations. They must be self starters with good team working and communication skills. The candidates must know the industry codes and standards which are applicable to oil field and gas plant application.
Work Experience:
For oil and gas jobs in Oman, substantial experience is required. For the post of geologists and geophysicists, at least 8 to 10 years of experience is required. For the post of engineers(civil/ mechanical/ drilling/ electrical) at least 5 to 8 years of experience is required. Required experience also depends on the seniority and responsibility of the post.

Working hours are generally 8 to 9 hours but at times due to urgent requirements employees have to work for longer period of time.
