Interview Preparation

An interview is considered to be an important part of the admission process here, and if you have secured a chance to appear for an interview then make sure that you are prepared well. However, before going in to the details of the interview preparations, it is important to know a bit about the interview process here.

As per available information, the university generally completes interviews in a single day. Interviewees are supposed to be present for the interview sharp on time. They are required to attend an orientation meeting with the Director of Admissions. The members of the Admissions Committee would then conduct two formal interviews followed by brief presentation by a Financial Aid Officer.

Then, expect to participate in the “Faculty Meet and Greet” session after which you would be taking a tour of the whole school.

Interview Preparation Tips

As you might have understood by now, you would have to meet a number of people during the entire course of the rendezvous. You should be able to leave an impression on all of them. But do not be scared of this thought. Be yourself. Make sure that you are preparing yourself well to answer questions properly. How can you that? Go through the following tips:

Start Preparing Early: Make sure that you are sitting down with your questions and answers way before the interview takes place. A range of interview questions is available online. You can go through them and prepare answers accordingly.

Another important aspect of your preparation would be to go through the website of the Yale University thoroughly. Know about its history, the important medical centers, the milestones achieved by each of the centers etc. Most importantly, do not forget to check the Interview section as well. As already mentioned above, you would be required to meet the Director of Admissions, Financial Aid Officer etc. So try and get a hang of how things are by asking seniors (if you know any of them personally).

Please make it a habit to read medical journals, periodicals etc and discuss current healthcare scenario with your interviewer. Dress appropriately for the occasion. Make sure that you are inquiring of the interview dress code from the university. If there is no dress code as such, sport semi-formals.
