The different levels of education of South Africa are- pre-primary, primary, secondary and higher education.Teachers constitute a bigger percentage of labor force in South Africa. Numerous private and public schools and universities have augmented the growth of teaching jobs in South Africa.
 
There other posts like private tutors, speech teachers, etc. and candidates can apply for those posts as well. But all the applicants must have the required qualification asked for by the education department of South Africa. 
 
Qualification: The school leaver's certificate is a must for all who are applying for the post of teachers. It is sufficient for the candidates who are applying for the post of teachers in the pre primary level. For the primary level the minimum qualification is graduation. For secondary and higher education, a master’s degree in the respective field is a must. Further qualification in that field will be an added qualification. For teachers in the technical field, minimum qualification will be a master’s degree in the particular field. Presently the South African education ministry wants to improve the education standard of the country and so it looks for candidates with high qualification. 
 
Work experience: Work experience is not necessary as such for local residents. But for foreigners it is a must along with a work permit. 
 
Work hours: There is a huge pressure over the teacher. In a week, they have to take at least 42-50 classes. The minimum working hours range around 7-8 hours minimum. 
 
Pay scale: Nothing is specified about the salary in the educational institutions.
