Nursing Jobs in California

There are about 150 new nursing jobs available in California every month. Registration with a school of nursing is a must for applying for nursing jobs in California. There are a number of good nursing schools in California, which offer bachelor as well as masters degree courses in nursing. There are specific guidelines for applying for nursing jobs in California. These guidelines are according to the Nursing Practice Act which regulates the appointment of Registered Nurses in California. The California Board of Registered Nurses has formulated this Act.
 
According to this Act, nursing jobs in California are based on a term of four years. A registered nurse can serve two consecutive terms in which case she has to renew her contract after the first four years. All posts are to be served by Registered Nurses only.

Qualification: Master/ Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
Specialization in Acute Care, Geriatrics, Rehabilitation, Oncology, Cardiology, etc. is required. A constant and increasing standard in patient care has to be maintained. Also, a CNS state certificate in nursing is required along with a registered nurse license of California. RNs (Registered Nurses) opting for Nurse Management have to play an important role in recruitment of nursing staff. 

Work Experience: Valuable experience in relate field on specialization is sought. For senior level posts work experience in a standard nursing home/hospital located in California or elsewhere is valued. 
 
Working Hours: It is based on regular shifts, five days a week. 
 
Pay Scale: On an average the salary ranges around $5200 to $9500 per month, depending on the type of post offered.
