Educational Qualifications: The requirement of educational qualifications for media jobs vary from department to department. But for jobs in the editorial department, graduation in Arts stream is the basic minimum criteria. Post graduation diploma in journalism and mass communication, photography, or graphic designing are given preference.
For media marketing jobs however, a post-graduation diploma in Public Relations (PR) is the desired qualification.
Work experience: Experience is always a must for an applicant seeking entry into the media industry and a work experience of one-two years make for a very impressive curriculum vitae. Nonetheless, inexperienced people are also given opportunities to work as trainees.
Duty hours: The normal duty hours for media personnel are eight hours a day, but people working in the editorial department often have to work much longer depending on the volume of news generated in the market.
